2 Product Description
GX590 is a dual pin integrated temperature sensor, whose output current is proportional to absolute temperature. In the voltage range of 4V to 18V power supply, this device can act as a high impedance, constant current regulator with a regulation factor of 1 µ A/K. The chip has been factory calibrated to output a current of 298.2 μ A at 298.2K (25 ° C). At present, the GX590 is suitable for any temperature detection application below 125 ° C using traditional temperature sensors. The characteristics of single-chip integration, low cost, and no need for supporting circuits make it an attractive alternative solution for many temperature measurement applications. When using GX590, there is no need for linearization circuits, precision voltage amplifiers, resistance measurement circuits, and cold junction compensation. In addition to temperature measurement, it can also be used for temperature compensation or correction of discrete devices, bias proportional to absolute temperature, flow rate measurement, liquid level detection, and wind speed measurement. GX590 provides bare chip form, suitable for hybrid circuits and fast temperature measurement in protected environments.
GX590 is particularly suitable for remote detection applications. It provides high impedance current output and is insensitive to voltage drop on long lines. Twisted pair cables with good insulation are suitable for working at distances of several hundred feet from the receiving circuit. This output characteristic also facilitates multiplexing of GX590: the output current can be switched through a CMOS multiplexer, or the power supply voltage can be switched through a logic gate output.
3 . Product Features
GX590 is a calibrated dual pin temperature sensor that only requires a DC voltage power supply (4V to 18V) to provide power. When applying this device, there is no need to use expensive transmitters, filters, lead compensation, and linearization circuits. Due to the output being current rather than voltage, it provides excellent interface suppression performance. In addition, the power requirements are very low (1.5mW, 5V, 25 ° C). These features make GX590 easy to use as a remote sensor.
High output impedance provides excellent power supply voltage drift suppression performance
